UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The University Research and Development Center formulates and implements effective mechanisms for planning, directing, supervising, financing, monitoring, disseminating, and assessing research and development activities of the University. It is also geared towards the establishment of linkages and the promotion of collaborative research activities with research-based and other academic institutions.

It develops a pool of faculty researchers and research specialists by providing them with a continuing program of upgrading human resource capabilities in research through effective training programs and attractive incentives to researchers. It also develops and implements guidelines that shall ensure the nurturance of a strong research culture in the University, and generates quality research outputs for utilization of the academe and the community.

A strong and dynamic research culture which is highly responsive in effecting quality Christian education and service through an enhanced discovery of knowledge.

Adopt a holistic approach in providing an efficient and effective exercise of research anchored on the following elements: Christian-based and interdisciplinary in approach, development oriented, innovative, and Filipino in character yet global in perspective.

URDC SERVICES

TUA – IERC (Institutional Ethics Review Committee)

Trinity University of Asia-Institutional Ethics Review Committee (TUA-IERC) is mandated by Trinity University of Asia to ensure that researches of students, faculty, staff and administrators that involve human participants are compliant to ethical standards.

TUA-IERC was created in pursuant to the joint Memorandum Order of Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Health (DOH), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) Number 001 Series of 2012 which requires all health researches involving human participants to undergo ethical review and clearance before implementation to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of the research participants. TUA-IERC is independent in its decision-making process. The TUA administration will not in any way influence or interfere with the review of the research protocols by the Committee.

TUA-IERC as it fulfills its function upholds the vision-mission of the University as well as its five (5) core values of integrity, excellence, innovation, teamwork and social responsibility.

ACCREDITATION

Level 2 Accredited from August 20, 2025 until August 19, 2027 by the PHILIPPINE HEALTH RESEARCH ETHICS BOARD (PHREB)

TUA – IBC (Institutional Biosafety Committee)

To ensure that all research activities involving biological agents are safe to humans as well as to environment, the Trinity University of Asia instituted the Trinity University of Asia-Institutional Biosafety Committee (TUA-IBC)

TUA – IACUC (TUA-Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee)

Trinity University of Asia in pursuit of excellence aims to ensure that the research generated by its constituents is ethical which means that the dignity, rights, and welfare of the research participant human and animal alike are protected.
